Specialty coffee spots in Paris

To be honest, I always considered Paris as one of the most overrated & expensive cities that most people only visit to take funny photos in front of Eiffel Tower and to strengthen the (!) relationship with their loved ones by leaving some love-locks on the Pont des Arts. Topping it all off, when it comes to Paris, my friends always keep telling me their concerns regarding the security problems and the amount of money they had spent on the below-average rated hotels. For these kinds of reasons, Paris has never succeeded to get my attention and I had never thought of visiting this popular city - until last week! I knew that the only way to overcome my prejudice against this so called “romantic” city was to experience it on my own so I decided to organize a one week trip to the “city of light”…

I will not go into the details of my vacation but in summary, I can say that I was really surprised and amazed by the beauty of Paris and it was far above my expectations! I think, one should at least visit this charming city once in his /her life and experience its elegant streets surrounded by history, art, culture, fashion and most importantly coo lcoffee spots! Thanks to the good weather, I have completed nearly all of the main touristic attractions in a very short time (Louvre, Musée d'Orsay, Notre Dame Cathedral, Moulin Rouge, Basilica of Sacré-Cœur, Montmarte streets, Montparnasse Tower, Eiffel Tower, Panthéon, Sainte-Chapelle, Champs-Élysées, Saint-Germain, Luxembourg Garden and so on…) and spent the rest of my vacation by discovering the coolest Parisian third wave coffee shops for you, dear readers! Here’s the list of my favourite ones! For a longer list; don’t forget to check @coffeediaries on Instagram!

La Caféothèque
52 Rue de l'Hôtel de ville

They are one of the leading coffee shops and pioneers of specialty coffee in Paris! Every single part of the place has its own style and the interior design is amazing! Besides serving coffee, they also organize trainings and courses for the ones who want to be experts in this industry!

Boot Café
19 Rue du Pont aux Choux

The smallest yet the cutest & coolest coffee shop in Paris! One coffee will not be enough!

Télescope
5 Rue Villedo

This one is close to Louvre and a good choice for drinking high quality coffee after spending long hours in the museum! In case you can’t find any available seats, grab your coffee and enjoy the view in Royal Palace Garden! No laptops allowed and no wifi!

Coutume
47 Rue de Babylone

Coutume reminded me of “Walters Coffee” (in Istanbul) with its chemistry related design. The long table in the corner gives the students/ freelancers the opportunity to work in a warm environment. As the baristas are so eager to share their knowledge, you can learn anything you want to know about the details of your coffee!

Kitsuné
51 Galerie de Montpensier

It is located in the arcades of Royal Palace Garden and is one of the best places to relax and get some fresh air in sunny summer days. They supply the coffee from “Workshop Coffee Co.” which is one of my favourite coffee shops in London and it tastes really good!

The Broken Arm
12 Rue Perrée

Don’t forget to make some shopping from their concept store adjacent to the café!

Folks And Sparrows
14 Rue Saint-Sébastien

Minimal & cool interior design, friendly staff, good music, good coffee... What else could you want from a coffee shop? Although I was here once in my life, I felt like I had known this place for ages and it will surely be my first stop of my next Paris visit!
