Akiko Aoki's deconstructed classics
April 30 2017
Akiko Aoki presented her solo collection during Tokyo Fashion Week for the first time. Although she worked with classic silhouettes and prints, she managed to bring a surprising element into every design.
Bold colours were strategically used in experimental patterns which created very daring atmosphere yet still preserved its elegance. On the other hand, she also worked with mild palette in combination with gingham or sheer elements.
Akiko's collection was composed of very classical pieces which were reconstructed in very stylish and contemporary way. She managed to incorporate elements like corsets into her garments. Smartly layered designs were playing with a volume.
